Our front yard pretty much takes care of itself, but every once in a while we like to change it up a bit. The agapanthus that have been growing next to the driveway are large and beautiful, but the bushes are starting to get int he way of the van and the flowers grow out over the walkway and get in the way. So, today we pulled them up and moved them next to the roses. That is no small feat, as the root system on agapanthus (agapanthi?? What is the plural of agapanthus?) are shallow, intertwining and invasive!!
The shrubs that were next to the roses also got pulled up. We moved those out onto the lawn. Our property line runs very close to the house that is directly north of us, and we have always had problems with the neighbors breaking our sprinklers. So, we moved the shrubs to protect the sprinkler heads and to better delineate our property line. We also eventually want to move the fence line out flush with the front of the house, so the other shrub is to kind of remind us where that will be.
We really like the ground cover that we have lining the entryway. It is called False Heather. We got some more and planted it near the driveway. It will take a little while to grow in, but even when it does, it won't crowd the van.
It looks really nice!!
