Tonight was the Young Author's Faire Reception, put on by the Fresno County Office of Education. Both Amanda and Rebecca entered books into the Faire. Rebecca's wrote and illustrated her book, "The New Friends". It was the only entry from her school. Amanda's book "Jupiter: The Gas Giant", was one of three books that came from her classroom. They both did an excellent job and it was nice to see their work recognized. At the reception there were many tables, all loaded down with books that children had written. They were great! It was a lot of fun to look through them. There was a guest writer who talked about her books (which are mainly about agriculture in the Central Valley), and at one point Rebecca was up on the stage as a strawberry. Fun!
We went out to eat tonight as a celebration of all the great work that our two scholars do!
